What should I bring to pole class?
- Bottle of water – to stay hydrated throughout your pole dance workout.
- Grip – Sweaty hands are the arch-nemesis of a pole dancer.
- Knee pads – if your class includes floorwork.
- Clothes you can grip in – usually includes crop top and shorts. Skin contact with the pole is essential for grip, or check out our grippy pole leggings!
Do you have to wear heels to pole dance?
Totally personal choice! Some prefer to dance in heels and some prefer not to. Wearing heels is not compulsory for pole dancing.
Can you pole dance in leggings?
While you should not wear everyday leggings for pole dancing, there is a range of sticky pole leggings available which help you grip to the pole and keep you warm at the same time. Do you have to be strong to start pole dancing?
Not at all! The reason alot of people join a pole dancing class is to get fitter and stronger. Beginner classes are aimed at people with low fitness levels and focus on simple spins and movement to work up to holding your bodyweight over time.
Do you have to be skinny to do pole fitness?
There’s no weight requirements or restrictions on pole dancing. You don’t have to be any weight/height/anything. Starting at a beginner level of pole dancing classes will mean your muscles can work up to the strength you require to hold yourself up over time regardless of weight. How do you stop slipping on a pole?
We sell a range of grips designed to stop you slipping on the pole. They’re designed to target different issues, so whether your hands are too sweaty or too dry there’s a product to help. We also sell gloves which are popular especially with beginners to help improve hand grip and stop slipping when pole dancing.
What is the best brand of pole for home use?
- X-Pole is the most popular home pole for pole dancing in Australia. They offer a freestanding stage pole as well as a pressure mount pole.
- Lupit Pole also make a fantastic quality pole for home dancing. They have a pressure mount pole.
